About Us

Mentor Computer Systems Plc trading as Mentor Distribution are Specialist Franchised Distributors of Displays (CRT's and LCD TFT's), Projectors, Motherboards, Memory & Graphic Cards and supply these goods to trade only customers in the UK market place. The Company operates from offices and warehousing in Henlow, Bedfordshire.

The Company was established by the current Managing Director, Mr. Stephen Tyler on the 5th March 1991 as the UK Importer and Representative of Number Nine Visual Technology, Graphic Cards.

Following the success of this product line, the Company, in 1994 included Monitors to its Portfolio. Distribution agreements were signed with Mitsubishi Electric, Iiyama UK. & Hitachi. Other agreements have been added over the years, and now include :-

Monitors from Chemei, Iiyama, Mirai & NEC with monitor arms and accessories from Ergomount.

NEC and Iiyama touch screen solutions 15" to 57"

Graphic cards from ATI (Fire GL Brand).

Multi Screen VGA cards from ATI (FireMV Brand).

Motherboards and barebone systems from Tyan with memory from ATP.

Power Supplies & Peripherals from Enermax.

19” rack server systems available in 1U, 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U & Blade form factor from Appro, Ci Design, Tyan and our own systems.

LCD Televisions from Mirai, NEC and Iiyama.

The Company has experienced good growth over the years with a staff who have many years of sales experience in the computer industry. Plans to move to larger Offices and Warehousing in Henlow Camp were completed in June 1999 and the change from Ltd to PLC took place 3 months before the move in March that year.

Mentor has a wealth of experience in the professional graphics market and will continue to offer expert advice along with as wide a range of products as possible to this market.

The Company’s database consists of nearly 11,000 trade accounts split by market sector i.e. PC or Macintosh, CAD, DTP, A/V, Corporate, Systems Builder etc. We have immediate on-line credit checking facilities via Dunn & Bradstreet, enabling new accounts to be opened within minutes. There is a continual development in innovative processes & technology and other tools to support both our customers and our own people.
