It contains five sub-racks stacked in a row housing 10 HyperBlade nodes in each sub-rack. Each HyperBlade is an independent server, with its own processors, memory, storage, network controllers, operating system and applications. The Appro sub-rack design for the Appro Mid-Cluster solution addresses your most serious issues: space constraints, manageability, scalability, capacity, performance, cooling and power. This modular solution are also designed to take less time to install, fewer people to maintain and cost less compared to most of today's 1U solutions.

Appro HyperBlade server supports the Intel Xeon processors 3000 series targeted for HPC only. These servers offer two boards per chassis nearly cutting the chassis and rack infrastructure cost in half. This cost-effective blade server delivers essential server-class features to reduce size, cost, power consumption and complexity. In addition it offers a small form factor board for high performance and high density computing applications enabling greatest system-level innovation. The two socket HyperBlade server solution features one PCI-E x8 slot enabling added I/O such as GbE, Infiniband, SAS RAID cards with 4 DIMM slots (maximum 8GB) of DDR2 533/667 memory. It delivers maximum flexibility, high-performance and value.

In addition, Appro's offer customized power supplies with superior cooling systems to meet current and future processor technology needs. Appro HyperBlade architecture provides the performance, reliability, flexibility and headroom necessary to keep high-end server customers up and running.
