This Mini-Cluster is designed for the High-Performance Computing (HPC) market and is a fully integrated cluster solution supporting up to 17 compute blades including a master node. This is the ideal solution for customers who want to start small in a modular clustering computing environment. If transaction or database volumes grow, customers can add a full-size HyperBlade cluster cabinet that supports up to 80 nodes. HyperBlade servers can fit all cabinet sizes including a standard 19” rack offering the ability to mix and match cluster building blocks. Appro HyperBlade server supports the Intel Xeon processors 3000 series targeted for HPC only. These servers offer two boards per chassis nearly cutting the chassis and rack infrastructure cost in half. This cost-effective blade server delivers essential server-class features to reduce size, cost, power consumption and complexity. In addition it offers a small form factor board for high performance and high density computing applications enabling greatest system-level innovation. The two socket HyperBlade server solution features one PCI-E x8 slot enabling added I/O such as GbE, Infiniband, SAS RAID cards with 4 DIMM slots (maximum 8GB) of DDR2 533/667 memory. It delivers maximum flexibility, high-performance and value. In addition, Appro's offer customized power supplies with superior cooling systems to meet current and future processor technology needs.
